Another great photo opportunity with Bethesda Magazine!

I photographed images to accompany a story on diversity in Montgomery County Schools.    I came across these kids having so much fun in the cafeteria.

Enjoy!

Touching moment

February 27, 2018

Germantown students - trailer park - backpack pick upI found this photograph when editing last week.   Principal Dietz was handed this cute baby during a public event she organized only 1 minute before the photograph was taken last spring for Bethesda Magazine.   She is truly a leader and a calming force.

Bethesda Magazine Cover

February 21, 2018

Bethesda Magazine created a beautiful cover with one of my photos! The cover story is a compelling story about Dale Elementary School, the staff and students and how they create a better community. Enjoy!

In honor of election day

20131209webThank you Barbara Mikulski!

In honor of election day I am posting a photograph of Barbara Mikulski who will retire this year.  I will miss her, her feisty speeches, her work and her no-nonsense attitude – that you can see in this photograph I captured before an interview.  Thank you for your service!

Nature is powerful

August 26, 2016

The recent earthquake in Italy is about 20 miles from the annual Spoleto arts festival. One of the pieces really speaks to the fragile nature of environment. The artist used a butterfly wing to beat a drum that amplified the sound through a long windy pipe. The sound created inside the 9th century church echoed like a loud heart beat. Nature is powerful.

Modern Art!

August 24, 2016

We walked into this room with a Gaint Gorilla created from bubble gum standing on a tower of boxes at the Spoleto Arts Festival. Maurizio Savini, the artist uses the medium to discuss the new modern era – the bubble gum era. Contemplating the meaning was entertaining! The new bubble gum sculptures placed in room with historical and religious paintings made the presentation even more compelling.DSC_0136web
